Although tea was introduced into Japan from China in 805 it was not until 1200 that it really took hold. Tea from Japan did not make it abroad until 1862. Today Japan exports less than one percent of its total production.


Bancha    **Organic**
Bancha means last tea or late harvest and is made from the large hard leaves including the stems and stalks. The coarser leaf contains less caffeine and tannin and gives a weaker infusion. Good all day drinking.

Genmaicha
